Here are a list of projects which are currently underway:

Upgrade of Access Control Fencing to Explosive Storage Areas (ESA) at Explosive Ordnance Depots - DEOH, Mangalore and Myambat

This project involves the construction of new class 3 fences surrounding three explosive ordinance depots; Defence Establishment Orchard Hills (DEOH) (NSW), Mangalore (VIC) and Myambat (NSW).

The Weapons, Munitions and Explosives (WME) Defence Audit previously conducted by Aurecon (formerly Connell Wagner) provides security recommendations to all defence sites around Australia outlining what needs to be upgraded or constructed to align with current security standards. C8930 Upgrade of Access Control Fencing to ESA Project is based on ‘recommendation 12’ of the WME project, which involves the physical security of the explosive ordnance depots.

All three sites in this project require new or upgraded fences surrounding the explosive storage areas (ESA) for the munitions. The new fences to be constructed have been nominated to be a Class 3 Security fence from the Defence Construction Security Reference Manual (DCSRM), with minor amendments as have been agreed with the Defence Security Authority (DSA).

This project also needs to coordinate the construction of the automatic gates with SKM who are providing the services for the WME project ‘recommendation 13’ which involves electronic and technological security of the depots.

Each of these projects attracts high visibility from defence and that they are all time critical projects.
