Project: Explosives Storehouse

This greenfield construct only project at a Sydney Defence site involved the construction of a new “underground” weapons storage facility for aircraft munitions.
The project involved 1000m³ of concrete, 120T of reinforcing steel, a completely encasing waterproof membrane and 20,000T of imported fill to “bury” the building.
A Type 1 Alarm System was also installed and the new electrical feed for the facility was earthed every 75m for lighting protection.
